On June 18th an agreement was reached between the Senate and the House on the FDA reform bill (PDUFA). It would require the FDA to hold a public meeting on the scheduling of hydrocodone. This is the only compromise that could be reached regarding the Manchin amendment and rescheduling of hydrocodone from schedule III to schedule II. While the hydrocodone reclassification will not happen immediately, there is a long list of supporters, and members of Congress will continue working toward resolving differences so that drugs like Vicodin and Lortab are placed in schedule II where they belong. We know many of you engaged your Senators and Representatives on this issue, and we want to thank you for weighing in with them and expressing your support.
